its now been 7 months since our last post when we entered lockdown. We made the decision to lockdown the home the week before the PM advised the whole country to do so. Since that time, we have remained in lockdown with no communty access for residents (apart from medical apppointments) We have been lucky that none of our staff & residents have tested positive for Covid-19 & all remain fit & well. As restrictions eased in the Summer, we began to allow relative visits out in the garden but still remaining socially distant, with no physical touching allowed. These have continued thoughout the past few months & everyone has enjoyed their visits during the sunny weather but as we enter into Autumn / Winter with colder wetter weather we have reviewed our visiting policy. We are able to allow visitors within our summerhouse, where we have electricity & heating & we have installed a clear dividing screen to keep residents & visitors socially distant during visits & also provide hand sanitiser & masks too. If the weather becomes too cold even for the summer house, we will be able to use a small lounge, with access from the garden, where visitors are able to see residents & keep 3m apart & still use masks & sanitiser. Visitors will have to confirm they have no symptoms & have their temperature checked before they enter the lounge. After the visit, the lounge will be cleaned & sanitised before anyone is allowed back in the room. We hope to maintain our Covid-free status whilst still allowing visitors albeit under careful restrictions to keep everyone safe. We are all looking forward to the day when we are able to go back to some kind of normality & hope that that isnt too far away in the future.
